Community Meals

For the past 4 years PCSOs from The Neighbourhood Policing team in Bridgend have been working with The Zone in the Town Centre and Tesco Brewery Lane to provide community meals around key dates for members of the local community who, live on their own and want to get out and meet new people or just for some support and a friendly chat. The meals are provided twice a year at Easter and Christmas time and cooked by the Local PCSOs.

A Lincolnshire safety campaign, where people feeling unsafe on a date or night out can discreetly ask for help using a code-word is being rolled out across the UK.


Crime Prevention Initiative at Princess of Wales Hospital

Police have once again joined forces with ABMU Health Board as part of an ongoing crime prevention initiative across the main hospital sites.
Following on from a successful launch at Morriston Hospital, officers headed to Princess of Wales Hospital to raise awareness with patients, visitors and staff.

Put yourself in the shoes of those who are suffering from domestic abuse

Bridgend County Borough Council is supporting the global White Ribbon campaign by inviting local residents to put themselves in the shoes of anyone who may be suffering from domestic abuse.

South Wales Police is once again launching its Halloween Campaign with a ‘Be A Nice Monster’ poster and stickers and on social media with #spooksafe, which is promoting people to behave safely and responsibly during the trick-or-treating festivities.

Welsh forces come together to support Hate Crime Awareness Week

All four Welsh police forces will today launch their campaign in support of Hate Crime Awareness Week, which aims to increase awareness about hate crime, encourage hate crime reporting and send a clear message that action will be taken against those who commit these insensitive crimes

Drugs seized and wanted people arrested during day of police action

Officers forced their way into four properties under the Misuse of Drugs Act and arrested wanted suspects during the day of action called Operation Violet Oman.

There has been a recent spate of dwelling burglaries in the borough where burglars are breaking into houses, taking the car keys and stealing the car and other posessions.

Home Fire Safety Checks

South Wales Fire and Rescue Services carries out approximately 6000 Home Fire Safety Checks and fit approximately 12000 smoke alarms in homes throughout the area each year.
